I love to travel. The world is wondrous to me, and I love investigating other countries while learning about their individual cultures. Unfortunately, during my struggle with anxiety, my ability to travel has vanished. However, despite that fact, I still spend copious amounts of time fantasizing about the places I would like to see. So, here is a list of 10 places that I would like to see before I die.
New Zealand – Anyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed with New Zealand. I love everything about the country, from their landscape all the way to their culture and people; it is an incredibly fascinating country. As such, New Zealand is on the top of my travel bucket list.
Australia – If you ‘hop across the ditch’ from New Zealand, you will arrive in Australia, which is number two on my bucket list. I reckon that I have made enough friends ‘down under’ that I would be able to do a full Australian tour when I eventually get there; they’ve given me no choice in that matter.
Canada – I know, I know, I live in Canada. Hear me out, though. Canada happens to be a huge country; I have not seen any of the provinces besides Alberta and British Columbia. I would love to see more of Canada, and explore places like Montreal, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, Etc.
The United Kingdom – I grew up in a family that is half British. It is my dream to go over to the UK one day and explore my British roots.
Singapore – Last winter, my younger brother took an extended tour of Asia; Singapore was one of his stops. I have heard fabulous things about Singapore from him, so I decided that I must see it for myself one day.
Germany – Germany has always been a country that has been on my list. I am a huge history nerd, so I have always thought it would be interesting to explore the German history of World War Two. Also, I would love to sample German cuisine; I have heard incredible reviews.
Japan – Japan is another country that I would like to visit for historical purposes. However, I would also like to experience shopping in Tokyo, as well as visiting Mt. Fuji. Also, if you go at the right time, apparently you can see the cherry blossoms in bloom. I believe that Japan has a lot to offer; I can’t wait to visit it one day.
The Netherlands – The Netherlands is known for activities besides its beautiful scenery and culture. However, I feel like the country is underappreciated here in North America. I for one would love the opportunity to go and explore the country firsthand; I feel like it is one of the countries that everyone should take in at least once.
South Africa – South Africa tends to get bad press over here in Canada due to its high crime rates. However, despite the negatives, South Africa is a physically beautiful country; just look at the pictures of the beaches. It is my hope that one day I will get the opportunity to visit South Africa and experience an African Safari.
Italy – Personally, I am all about the food that Italy has to offer (as well as the sightseeing). Just thinking about authentic Italian pizza is enough to get me drooling.
