I don’t normally do a weekend update. However, this weekend has been a big one for me.
First off, on Saturday we had a special Indian feast.
This meal was a celebration of the fact that I had pushed past my anxiety on Thursday and actually went to a therapy appointment (as opposed to a phone session). To many people, this may seem like a simple task. However, anyone with severe anxiety knows that going outside can be difficult or scary. Nevertheless, I am proud of myself. Also, the Indian food was delicious.
Secondly, we adopted two rescue dogs this weekend.
We have been looking into dog rescue for some time now as my current retriever is reaching the end of life.
We were only planning on one dog. However, our plans changed when we met a dog named Kira (whose name we originally thought was Belle).
Kira is a 2-year-old lab mix who was rescued from northern British Columbia along with her litter of pups. Her little family was living in a hole under a house.
Josie is Kira’s 8-month-old puppy; she is a beautiful mix of German Shepherd and Labrador.
Two of Kira’s pups have already been adopted, but my family and I didn’t have the heart to separate her from Josie. So, now we have three dogs.
Since Josie and Kira are still timid, they will not be coming home immediately. It will be a week or two before they arrive her. Therefore, my family will visit them regularly at the kennel so that they can warm up to us.
I am incredibly excited that these two dogs will be a part of our family. We adore dogs and are eager to provide Kira and Josie with the happy life that they deserve.
What did you guys get up to this Weekend?
